In the race to achieve optimal comfort, both leading mattress brands have implemented the latest advancements in science and modern ingenuity into their products.
Both DreamCloud and Nectar are foam based mattress, but each have unique qualities.
In this guide, you’re going to learn which one to choose, and more importantly, why.
So, keep on reading.
The 15-inch DreamCloud mattress is an eight-layered hybrid of memory foam. If you’re stressed out after a long day, then perhaps you would love the soothing effect of their cashmere blended cover.
DreamCloud ingeniously integrates different layers of memory foam with a five-zoned, foam-encased pocketed microcoils. These microcoils help in supporting proper spinal alignment and contour perfectly around your body. They don’t let the support alignment break, regardless of your preferred sleeping posture.
Right below the layer of soft quilted memory foam, we get a specialised surface of hypoallergenic natural latex. Much more durable than its synthetic clone, natural latex conforms and moulds itself to adjust to any amount of weight, no matter how unevenly distributed it is across the mattress surface.
The cashmere latex blend cover comes with the promise of hand-tufted non-adhesive binding. This provides excellent edge support, which further reduces the risk of future sinkage while increasing the surface area of the mattress.
Perhaps what’s most unique to DreamCloud is the use of cashmere in their covers. Cashmere is as expensive as it is rare; manufacturing it is a very painstaking and tedious process. But, DreamCloud, much like their name, spares no resource for their customers.
Cashmere gives three times more cooling than foam or cotton, and the hand-tufted cover, along with a layer of gel infused memory foam, allows you to sleep at a cooler temperature.
The optimal firmness level usually varies from user to user. Keeping this in mind, DreamCloud tries to cover all bases and effectively gives a firmness of 5.5 – 7.5 (on a scale of 1 – 10), thus balancing out the areas of comfort and support.
The hand-tufted cashmere latex blend cover minimizes the risk of sinkage because it uses a non-adhesive binding.
The latex, along with the micro-coils, limits motion transfer, making it particularly suitable for light sleepers who share their bed. Because it restricts the vibrations at its source, you will hardly feel your partner shifting in bed.
Dream Cloud mattresses are available in 6 different sizes.
Nectar mattresses use an integrated, multi-layered system of memory foam. This, in turn, is securely bound in a plush quilt that is built into the cover. This system helps achieves a significant amount of pressure relief and allows you to sink into the mattress. It is ideal for the customers who prefer to sleep on their sides.
Underneath the two layers of memory foam, Nectar adds a 3” layer of memory foam into their 11” mattresses. This layer of memory foam contours your body and helps distribute weight and aids pressure relief.
What all good mattresses need is a buffer zone between their layers. The next part of the memory foam acts as a sort of a transitional buffering layer. But, unlike the layer above it, this foam is very sensitive to pressure and weight distribution, thus making it springy and elastic. This property adds an extra bounce to the mattress and prevents you from excessively sinking.
The final layer of Nectar mattresses is a base of dense polyfoam that supports and carries all the other layers, creating a strong foundation for the mattress. Along with the sensitive foam, this layer helps the mattress retain its shape for very long period of time.
Just like DreamCloud, Nectar mattresses also have a unique cover. Made of Tencel cotton, Nectar’s mattress cover is highly breathable, softer, and absorbs more moisture than any other premium cotton.
Integrated into the cover is a 1” layer of gel memory foam which keeps the mattress aerated and cool, thus preventing you from overheating in your sleep.
Much like DreamCloud, Nectar strives to strike a balance between being too plush and too firm. On a scale of 1 – 10, they have a firmness score of 6.5.
The unique combination of the gel memory foam (attached into the covering) and the 3” memory foam functions as a weight distributor and limits motion transfer. Isolating a lot of the vibrations created by your partner might help you sleep better.
The sturdy base created by the sensitive foam and the dense polyfoam acts as a supporting mechanism. This helps reduce excessive sinkage, thereby letting the mattress retain its original shape indefinitely.
Nectar mattresses are limited to an 11” height, but they come in 6 different sizes.
Both DreamCloud and Nectar have equipped their mattresses with some unique features, which set them both apart from the rest of the market. If you’re still having difficulty deciding between two, here is a side by side comparison of both.

The use of a cashmere blend cover, combined with the microcoils, ventilate the mattress throughout and maintains a cooler temperature.
The DreamCloud hybrid of foam-coated microcoils and the gel foam layers help you relieve excess pressure built-up over the course of a stressful day.
The plushness of the hand tufted-cover, and the soft layer of memory foam, acts as exceptional shock absorbents, limiting motion transfer and soaking up the vibrations directly at the source.
Nectar would be optimal for you if:
The layers of memory foam quilted into the cover gives any side sleeper a sense of a plush loving embrace. As the 3” foam freely resists pressure, it contours perfectly around any form of weight distribution. This makes it perfect for those who sleep on their sides.
Each Nectar mattress comes with a CERTIPUR-US® Certification. The eco-friendly Tencel cotton cover is made without ozone depleters.
Across the board, Nectar is a much more affordable brand, regardless of the size. It is much more appealing to buyers who are not willing to spend that much on a mattress but who don’t want to compromise the quality or comfort.
Some people might have heard that Dreamcloud and Nectar same are the company. So is it true, is Dreamcloud owned by Nectar? It is indeed true, Nectar own’s the Dreamcloud brand. Think if it like Toyota an Lexus. Toyota is the mainstream, affordable brand – while Lexus goes after the luxury market. In this case, Nectar is like Toyota and Dreamcloud is like Lexus.
DreamCloud, with its layering of foam, coil, and latex has created a hybrid that is ideal for relieving stress. Nectar, on the flip side, creates a feeling of a plush hug, which is ideal for side sleepers.
But, in the end, it all boils down to what you prefer and what caters the best to your desires and budget.
We hope our comprehensive guide was able to help lead you to a decision.
Till next time!
